"Presentations For The Academies"

A new academies project at the beginning of a new semester
This was definitely going to be a complicated tester.

Choosing a course was the first thing to check off from the list
We had to at least understand the whole gist.
Being partners with Leanne helped in dividing up the work load
We knew how to meet along the bumpy road.

We went to the library one day and worked for hours
Completed major parts of the presentation with our brain powers.
Neuroscience with Psychology is what our presentation covered
There were tons of interesting facts that we discovered.

The day of presenting was coming soon
Nothing was helping to relax my nerves, not even a calming tune.
Presenting in front of an audience for me is not easy as pie
Thinking about it makes my brain fry.
Ms. Millan heard my dilemma and helped us out
She let us rehearse in her room while guiding us without a doubt.

At last the day to present came
And my nervousness was still the same.
Blizzard Nemo had also come along
There was nothing else that could go wrong.
It was finally our turn to go
We went through the whole thing with a decent flow.
We took a deep breath of relief once it was done
And watched the rest one by one!

It's now time for a cup of tea!

"Flu Going Around Everywhere"

Seemed like everyone was getting the flu
And it began to spread in my family too.

They kept telling me it's a great time get the flu shot
"But that still contains the flu in it" I thought.
Even the people who received the shot still got sick
How do I know this would save me and work like a magic trick?

I don't have time to take sick days
Especially with midterm exams on their way.
I needed to find other ways to protect myself
This problem was not going to solve by itself.

Started to wear layers of warm clothes
To keep me toasty in the weather of snows.
Got some home remedies from my mum
These protected me from any flu that wanted to come.

Knock on wood, I have been successful so far
And I hope to keep things the way they are.

"Santa Claus Is Coming To Town"

Christmas season has begun
And I still have a load of work undone.
Need to make cards, need to to decorate, need to buy presents...
Heaps of money and time will be spent.

Buying presents was the most confusing
Who knew what everyone will actually end up using.
The age range was quite wide
I needed to find a way through this complicated ride.

With the help of my mother and her brain that works fast
I finally created a plan at last!
On the fifteenth I will go to the store.
And the cards shall be made the day before (20th).

Bought four various designs, tons of chocolate and colored pens
To make the cards look mighty swell for teachers and friends.
All the gifts were bought and wrapped on time sweetly
And they were ready to be distributed completely!

"Last Homecoming Football Game"

Through high school, never went to a football game
And when I told my friends this, they called me lame

The final homecoming game was coming quick
To go to the game or not, I had to pick.

I don't really have interest in football
I also don't understand the game at all.

Preparations had to be done for the dance
That made me very exhausted in advance.

I heard it was going to be cold that day
Needed to find a way to be warm someway.

It helped a lot that it was on a Friday
That meant I could sleep longer the next day.

My friends said this was the last chance to go
At last, it seemed better to go with the flow.

It became a great memory for this year!

"So Much Work To Do Yet Not Enough Time"

Schedules were becoming messay (messy)
From college applications to essays.

The stressful workload seemed to never end
We had to find a way to calmly bend.

Assignment deadlines were near each other
Looking at the work, we said "Oh brother!"

A nice organized scheduled was needed
Everything needed to be completed.

A useful list was made to get workin (working)
High to low preferences were written.

In hope that this list would help get work done
So that we can tell everyone we won.

Now it is time to finish everything
So we can enjoy this year with a swing!

An organizer always helps with work!

"Nervousness In The Fresh Fall Air"

Senior year finally started
The 12th grade of this year parted.

Classes were not easy like past years
Everyone began to have some fears.

SATs were coming up soon
It was required to stay in tune.

Nervousness filled the fresh fall air
It was now time to be aware.

Deadlines for test next month were soon
Decisions should be made by noon.

October seemed to be a rush
But it would make colleges shush.

A final decision was made
We could not let the days fade.

We will take the SATs next month.
